For Father's Day we headed over to Lupita's on the Post Road in Fairfield. I was in the mood for mexican and wanted to try something new.
Lupita's is in a strip mall with an Italian restaurant and a Thai restaurant. The interior has that strip mall feel, but over all it is clean an open.
They serve a basket of chips with fresh homemade salsa to start. The salsa is outstanding! We had margaritas, which were the perfect start to the meal. For an appetizer we had the Nachos, which weren't piled high like you see in some restaurants. Not sure if this is authentic Mexican, but they were ok. Not the best I've had, and not the worst. The fresh salsa made it better.
For an entree I had a chicken chimichanga. On it's own, it tasted fine, but I've been eating the Chimichangas at Taco Loco for years, and Taco Loco definitely makes a better one.
Service was friendly and prompt, that is until several other parties came into the restaurant. The sole waitress was soon overwhelmed and we were starting to feel a little forgotten.
Lupita's has a children's menu that includes quesadillas, tacos, chicken fingers and more.
