Bravo! Opening Celebration

Experience and participate in live theatre at the Opening Celebration of the Bravo! exhibition with fun and entertaining activities for the whole family. Explore the world of theatre through dramatic costumes and props on display and interactive stations that take visitors “behind the scenes.” Regional theatre companies will present short readings, pretend auditions and theatre games, including Fairfield University’s On the Spot improv group, Stratford SquareWrights and Falcon Repertory Theatre. Children will be entertained with storytelling and craft projects inspired by the rich history of theatre in Fairfield County.

Sunday, October 2, 12pm – 4pm
$5 Admission, children 5 and under free.

The six-month Bravo! A Century of Theatre in Fairfield County exhibition opened to the public on Sunday, September 25th and will run through Sunday, March 18th, 2012, according to Kathleen Motes Bennewitz, director of exhibitions and programs.
“It is the largest, first-of-a-kind exhibition the Museum has undertaken and focuses on the legacy of Fairfield County’s regional theatres, highlighting the Westport Country Playhouse, the White Barn Theatre and the American Shakespeare Festival Theatre and Academy,” she said.
