Pinkberry in Fairfield, tasty and cool.

Pinkberry Watermelon topped with fresh fruit and assorted goodies

Recently, a friend of mine suggested we meet at Pinkberry to catch up. Just hearing the word Pinkberry made me pause, but what the heck, I’ll always try something new. Pinkberry’s Fairfield store is right on the Post Road, adjacent to Colony Pizza. When you walk in the shop has that glossy, airy decor found at many Asian restaurants in New York. A space-efficient layout, with plenty of seating.

All well and good, but on this 90 degree day, I was looking forward to trying out one of Pinkberry’s chilly fro-yo confections. Franchise owner Jamie Karson was in and asked if we were interested in sampling. Don’t twist my arm!

Pinkberry Flavors

We sampled each of the flavors available the day we visited: Original, Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Coconut. PinkBerry’s Original takes the place of what would normally be vanilla at other shops, but it’s not vanilla. Just sweet enough with a pleasant aftertaste. The chocolate flavor was light and delicious, thanks to it’s dark origins. Salted Caramel was my favorite. It’s a unique taste that will have you coming back. The coconut had a wonderful flavor that brought me back to Hookipa Beach on Maui.

Pinkberry doesn’t stop there. They have more than a dozen fresh fruit, nut and candy toppings. Ultimately I chose the salted-caramel with various fruits. A great little snack!

The staff at Pinkberry is friendly and help guide you through all the choices. Think of Pinkberry as a fantastic alternative to ice cream. This would be a great place to bring the kids or go on a date. Fun, cozy and relaxed.
