This weekend there is no shortage of things to do in Fairfield. Each year the first weekend of December is a big holiday smorgasbord, and this one seems to be the biggest one yet. Here’s a guide to Fairfield’s holiday weekend:
Friday, December 3:
10am – 7pm Burr Homestead The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival Opens to the public. I was able to get a sneak preview Thursday night and this year’s holiday decorating is not to be missed. Check out this room decorated by Victoria Ross and Susan Pinson:
Tickets are available from the Christmas Tree Festival or at the door. All proceeds from the event will benefit Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport.
5:00pm – 9:00pmFirst Church Congregational (across from the Town Green) holds their annual Three Kings Bazaar. Not only is this a great place to warm up from the cold, but you will find unique crafts and treasures.
Approx. 5:30 to 6:30 on the Town Green- The Fairfield Tree Lighting Ceremony and visit from Santa Claus. Get there early, the hot coco goes fast.
7:00pm – 9:00pm Fairfield Museum and History Center Holiday Express
Train Show, be one of the first to see the new displays and layout created by the Housatonic Model Railroad Club and Connecticut “G” Scalers.
Saturday Dec. 4:
9:00am – 4pm First Church Congregational Holiday Bazaar continues. Handcrafted jewelry, luncheon, silent auction and more.
10:00am – 5:00pm at Burr Homestead The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival is open to the public
1:00pm – 3:00pm at Fairfield Museum and History Center is hosting the Museum Shop Holiday Tea Tasting Event
9:00pm – ??? at The Shack Fairfield After Dark holds an Ugly Holiday Sweater Party. Prizes will be awarded. Bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and you’ll receive a free Sam Adams or glass of wine.
Sunday Dec 5:
10:00am – 4:00pm at Burr Homestead The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival is open to the public
