Let’s face it, Twitter is the latest buzz in the tech world. Who knows how long it will be the big thing, but one thing is for sure, there are jobs to be found on Twitter.
If you are not “Tweeting” yet (that’s what it’s called when you post on Twitter) it’s free and real easy to sign up. Just go to www.twitter.com. The key here is your bio. In your bio, enter the type of work you do and the new role you are looking for. Use your industry’s buzz words, so people can find you.
How do people find you? And more importantly, how do you find the jobs. People find you and you find them by searching. The search link is at the bottom of the Twitter page. There you can search on the type of job you are looking for. When you find a job you are interested in, typically there is a link provided to a job application or description. As you look at your search results, keep an eye out for companies or recruiters that are posting jobs. Click on their avatar and then click the “follow me” button. This way you will get Tweets to your profile when they post new opportunities.
If you really want to power search Twitter, point your browser to www.twitterjobsearch.com. Here you will be able to search by type of jobs and location. You can subscribe to RSS feeds for the search results as well. Twitterjobsearch also allows you to filter the results Job Title, Salary, Skills and Job Type.
