Fairfield Property Tax Hike…Taking it to the streets!
I saw this sign posted at the corner of Holland Hill and Crestwood Roads yesterday morning. Unfortunately, it was gone about 2 hours later. I don’t know who put it there, but I love the guerilla initiative.
In time the since 2002, our property taxes on our house have risen 11.5%. So a one-year jump [...]
Monday’s Job Search helpful hint #4 – Twitter
Let’s face it, Twitter is the latest buzz in the tech world. Who knows how long it will be the big thing, but one thing is for sure, there are jobs to be found on Twitter.
If you are not “Tweeting” yet (that’s what it’s called when you post on Twitter) it’s free and real [...]
Good times at the Fairfield Trek Bicycle Store opening
The Fairfield Trek Bicycle Store celebrated it’s grand opening with the usual sales and offers. But they veered off the beaten path, by bringing mountain bike legend Gary Fisher and 7-time National Champion and Professional Trials, Freeride, and Stunt Rider, Mike Steidley. Fisher schmoozed with the customers, while Steidley did what he does best… entertain [...]

Senator Dodd, who do you work for?
I only got a B in my PoliSci class, so my understanding of politics is thin. But, my understanding is likely on par with most Americans. So, when I read on opensecrets.org that Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd has received $281,038 in campaign contributions since 2003 from AIG, I am forced to be skeptical. Is Senator [...]

Monday’s Job Search helpful hint #3 – Online meeting sites
If you listen to any career advice, the one piece of advice you will consistently hear is “network, network, network”. Most people have a hard time networking, myself included. I have found two tools on the internet that make networking easier:
www.meetingwave.com
www.meetup.com
With either of these sites you will need to create a profile and outline your interests. [...]
Monday’s Job Search helpful hint #2 – Put RSS to work for you
One of the benefits of living in the internet generation is the wealth of sites we can visit to look for job opportunities. There are general job boards, regional job boards, industry specific job boards, associations, aggregators, you name it. It feels like every week I find another site to search for job vacancies.
Most [...]
