Connecticut’s Governor, M. Jodi Rell was on hand Friday, February 27th 2009 to reopen the Southport MetroNorth Train Station. The train station was destroyed by fire on January 4th 2008. The $3 million renovation was completed earlier this month. Rell was joined by Republican State Senator John McKinney, Tony Hwang (R-134) and Fairfield First Selectman Kenneth Flatto (D).
Also on hand were a number of Fairfield firefighters including Fire Chief Richard Felner. They were joined by members of Art/Place which had a gallery in the Train Station.
